INSTALLATION

BUSTLE

Bustle is a drawing-based, mixed-media wall installation, posturing contradictions in the midst of visual movement; such as, hard-edged geometric shapes versus soft, ruffle-like layers; suspended, fragile pearls versus layers of heavy plastic and paper substrates; awkwardly painted gestures versus elegant ones. The overall looming image suggests a woman’s gesture, while being undefinable in its individual collage elements. It is oddly jaunty, teasing the viewer’s space as it connects the wall to the floor.
