This environment created in collaboration with Jenn Figg and Matthew McCormick, addresses the similarities and dichotomies of urban and rural geographies. Subrural presents the cultural anxiety found at the intersections of the familiar and the unpredictable. Looming vines, inverted power towers, and enlarged insect wings reinforce this tension. Interspersed sounds of cicadas and urban life overlay a scene of nature meeting industrial intervention.
